These are my FAVORITE Classic Chocolate Chunk Cookies. They’re crispy on the edges, yet chewy and soft in the middle with chunks of melty chocolate in every bite. No refrigeration needed, just bake and enjoy these perfectly sized buttery, salty, chocolatey cookies.

INSPIRATION
It’s taken me a while to create what I think are my favorite chocolate chunk cookies. My grandma would be super proud of what I came up with – even though hers are the BEST. Baked goods always taste better when baked with love and probably a little nostalgia too. With that being said, these ones are a close second.
I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with the million and one cookie recipes out there in the world. I want to add mine into the mix because these are a great classic and they’re so easy to make. I’m not going to say these are revolutionary but after countless tests and trials, I can definitely say that they are my perfect cookie.

HOW TO MAKE CLASSIC CHOCOLATE CHunk COOKIES
What I love about these cookies are that they’re easy to make. You do not need to freeze or refrigerate the dough before baking. It’s easy to scoop right onto the baking sheets and they’re done in about 15 minutes. You can use chocolate chunks (highly recommend) or chocolate chips, try half dark and half milk chocolate, it’s really up to you. But the cookie recipe is the perfect base. Don’t feel like them making them right away? Freeze half the dough for a later use – they’ll be just as good.
- Use room temperature butter and eggs. Keeping everything the same temperature ensures a creamy, light and fluffy dough. Since these cookies are high butter content, opt for a higher quality butter since that flavor will really come through.
- Chocolate is obviously another key ingredient in here. I used chocolate chunks from Trader Joe’s which are an affordable and delicious option to add into the dough. But you can use chocolate bars or chocolate chips, milk or dark. It’s up to you!

In less than 45 minutes you will have fresh cookies to impress yourself, friends and family. These cookies are chocolatey, gooey, sweet, and have slightly crispy edges. Everything you could want in a cookie. Eating these will transport you back to your grandma’s or childhood home. These cookies may be a little indulgent but I think we can all use that from time to time.
